About Jane

Having had rescue greys for a few years now, I organised the first York Great British Greyhound Walk in 2011 with Tina. It was such a success, we decided to carry on and I'm so glad we did - pointy dogs and their owners are really nice people. The rest of my time is spent teaching, doing educational things on the internet, running a small craft company, shouting at the family and wondering what I went upstairs for.

Celebrate ‘Dog Day’ with us this weekend (5th November)

Kukir Tihar is the Nepalise Hindu celebration of dogs (part of Diwali) when dogs are garlanded with marigolds and offered treats in thanks for their friendship. You can imagine Team Pointy love this idea so come to the walk this Sunday (10.30 for an 11 o’clock start) and we will give your dog one of our home-made marigold garlands (and treats!).

Fulford Arms, Fulford Rd, York, YO10 4EX

Join us every first Sunday of the month for a lovely pointy walk

We meet, rain or shine, at the Fulford Arms, Fulford Road, York on the first Sunday of every month at 10.30 (set off at 11.00). Please join us! All pointies of any description welcome, plus any other family members, hairy or not 🙂

There is some parking at the pub for the early birds and plenty of off-street parking a little further on (Hospital Fields Road)

Next walk: THE BIG ONE! Sunday 21st June

Yes, we are a bit excited about the Great British Greyound Walk on the 21st June when hounds (and non-hounds) will be walking all over the country to promote greyhounds as companion animals.

This will be York’s fourth GBGW and Team Pointy can promise you a greyt walk with over 100 hounds (we had 118 last year and we may see even more this year) plus the fun of the fundraiser afterwards (with the best raffle, tombola, games and craft stalls plus of course the Fun Dog Show!)

Next walk: Sunday 5th October 2014

Usual place (Fulford Arms, Fulford road, York, YO10 4EX), 10.20 am for an 11 o’clock start. Looking forward to seeing friends old and new.

And look what we’ve been making to support this years’ chosen charity, Tia Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue. You can buy them for £3 for a pack of five and every single penny will go to Tia:
